Unlike other online programs, our school is public and has the same requirements as all traditional public brick and mortar schools in Washington. 5th graders will receive attendance credit when they participate in live Class Connects and complete all of their Daily Assignments on the OLS.
The WAVA office will monitor attendance based on participation. Learning Coaches do not record attendance.
Attending live Class Connects (CC) is a requirement.
Please schedule appointments outside of CC time.
If you will miss the live CC due to illness or a family emergency, contact Mrs. Sol before the scheduled CC. Then, watch the recording and complete the Google CC Absence form before Friday.*
Missing CC assignments will be marked with an "M" in the gradebook. Please complete them ASAP.
* Since you are graded on participation, the only way to receive full points for CC attendance is to attend the live session.
Students are required to log into the Online School (OLS) every day, Monday-Friday.
Students will follow the Daily Plan and complete all lessons listed for attendance credit.
Assignments not completed during the school day, will be assigned as homework.
For a full-time student, a school day typically lasts 6-7 hours.
If you get behind in a course, lessons will become "overdue." Be sure to catch up over the weekend, so you are back on track by Monday.
Missing assignments will be marked with an "M" in the gradebook. Please complete them ASAP.
