You will be working on the same lessons as your classmates every day, so follow your plan closely. 5th graders will receive scores for progress, assessments, assignments, and Class Connect participation in the GRADEBOOK. The gradebook is located on your OLS homepage and will be updated weekly.
We are not adding additional assessment attempts this year. Please don't assume you will be able to take a test more than one time. Prepare, review, and practice before taking an assessment because the score will go into the gradebook. If you've mastered the lesson concepts, should only need to take an assessment one time.
Our required Class Connects are on Tuesdays & Thursdays (Math) and Wednesdays (Language Arts). You will see the links on your Daily Plan. Please attend the required sessions and actively participate because you will get points in the gradebook for attending live! Two spiral notebooks (8.5" x 11") are needed for Class Connects this year - 1 for math and 1 for language arts. Please come to class prepared and ready to learn!
Class Connect and teacher-graded assignments range from 0-150 points in the gradebook. To make sure all students are successful, I will hand out scoring information, rubrics and due dates when assignments are introduced.
Students will receive gradebook points for various class projects and activities, such as:
