I am excited to introduce myself to you. My name is Ronda Sol and I will be your teacher this year! I have certainly been looking forward to the 2019-2020 school year. I commend you on your dedication to your children. Let’s work as a team to ensure that your child becomes an independent lifelong learner. I am here to answer questions and to support you every step of the way.
Let me tell you about myself. I received my Bachelors Degree in Communications and Art and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from St. Mary’s College in California (Go Gaels!). This will be my 23rd year of teaching. I have taught students of all grade levels in California, North Carolina, and Washington. I was one of the first teachers hired at the Washington Virtual Academy in 2006, and boy, did I learn a ton. Now, with 13 virtual years under my belt, I hope to pass that knowledge on to you!
Mr. Sol and and I are the proud parents of two amazing boys. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family, going on nature walks, exploring new places, creating educational resources, and photography.
My students and I will see each other in Class Connect at least 3 times a week. Students will have an opportunity to comment and share on our classroom blog as well. Check out the new posts each week! It will be fun to learn about your virtual classmates in Class Connect and on our blog this year!
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns or just to say hello. Here’s to a GREAT year!
Please purchase two 100 page 8.5" x 11" spiral notebooks to use in Class Connect this year (one for math and one for ELA).
Students will turn in assignments each week. It will be helpful to have a scanner, smart phone, or digital camera so work can be sent to Mrs. Sol digitally.
In order to effectively participate in Class Connect, computer microphones are required.
Students with webcams will also be able to share their work during Class Connect time (optional).

Your materialsshould be arriving shortly. You may want to clear off a book case before you start to unpack the boxes. If you have room, I also recommend breaking down the boxes and saving them, so you can easily return your materials at the end of the year. You can start schooling, even without materials! Click here for more info.
The Online School or “OLS” is where you will go to begin your planning each day. Follow your daily plan, complete all assignments and attend scheduled Class Connects for course credit.
We will use Blackboard Collaborate for weekly Math and ELA (English Language Arts) Class Connect lessons. If you are a new family, or if you want to make sure your Blackboard is working correctly, visit the Blackboard Support Portal.
