When did you become a teacher? I got my teaching credential way back in 1993. I taught for nine years until I had my children. After taking a few years off, I returned to teaching – from home!
What is your favorite subject that you like to teach? I really love teaching Math, Computers and Literature.
What is your favorite color? My favorite color is chocolate brown.
What was your favorite subject when you were a kid? I loved creative writing and art! Still do.
Who was your favorite teacher? Can I only pick one? I LOVED my elementary teachers - Mrs. Vied, Mrs. Villa, Mrs. Lyons, Mr. Stansbury, Mr. Chappell. They were all amazing! In high school, my favorite teacher was Mr. Burg. I took all of his literature courses because he made learning fun. My favorite college professor was Candy Boyd. She was a vivacious and energetic reading teacher, who was also a children's book author! Can you see where I get my love of literature? All of these teachers made me who I am today. They are why I am a teacher!

Do you like green eggs and ham? I do! I like them, Sam I Am!
Have you ever been in a play? And what play is your favorite? Yes, when I was in 4th grade, I played Uncle Sam in a school play. My only line was, “Splendid!” My favorite plays are Peter Pan and Annie.
Who taught you how to be silly? My relatives, I guess. I come from a long line of silly people. I’ve got them on both sides of the family!
What’s your favorite animal? My favorite animal is a sea otter. When I was little, I would sit on the beach while my dad went scuba diving for abalone. Whenever he would dive in Monterey, the curious sea otters would pop out of the water to say hello!
Have you ever been on a cruise ship? No, but that sounds like fun!
What do you love most to write? Poems? Stories? Haikus? Prompts? Or do you like reading writing better? I hope I haven't stumped you on this question. Hmmmm... I like writing poems and stories. I also like reading my students' Quick Writes because it's fun to see how different the stories can be from the same prompt!
What is your favorite movie and why?Monsters, Inc. I love the whole concept of monsters hiding in our closets and using our screams as a source of energy. Plus, the characters are too cute!
What side of the street do you live on?I live on the left side as you drive up our court.
When is your birthday? I was born on April 3 (many moons ago).
What is your favorite Star Wars movie? My favorite Star Wars movie isA New Hope. I remember seeing it at the movie theater when I was 9 years old. However, back then it was just called Star Wars. My favorite character is Chewbacca.
I would like to know your favorite number. My favorite number is 2, but I also like 734.
Mrs. Sol do you like animals? Specifically dogs and cats? I love animals – all kinds! There's a picture of me and my first cat, Grey Grey (right). SHE'S SOOOO FLUFFY!!!
Where did you grow up? I grew upin the valley near San Francisco (the best city on the planet). Go Giants!
What’s your hair color?Today my hair is light brown.
What do you like about yourself?I like that I am easy going and optimistic.
What is your favorite pet and fairy tale? My favorite pets are Vamp and Grey Grey because I had them for a long time. My favorite fairy tales are Peter Pan and Rapunzel.
Were you a cute baby? My parents think so.
Do you like cheesecake? I do! I especially like chocolate chip cheesecake with an Oreo crust.
Do you like your job? I love my job! I am lucky to work with such wonderful families who truly care about education.

What is your favorite sport? My favorite sport to play is tennis and my favorite sports to watch are basketball and baseball.
What do you like most about your job? My students, Class Connects and my commute!
My question for you is, what is your favorite food and drink? My favorite food is paella, a Spanish dish that my mom makes (that's my cute mom on the left). Whenever she comes to visit, she brings her little bottle of saffron because she knows I will request it! My favorite drink is a thick chocolate mint milkshake. Okay, now I’m hungry.
